How To Avoid Being George Zimmered Out Of Your Company

By Robert Sher

I’ll bet everyone who has dreams of being a CEO has empathy when a founder or CEO gets fired.  That’s certainly how I felt when I heard the news of George Zimmer’s dismissal from The Men’s Warehouse.

I believe a primary factor is CEOs who “shoot the messenger” and shut down the loyal people who provide a feedback loop.  This leaves CEOs out of step, and likely to take actions that cause undesired results.  This Forbes article delineates my thoughts.  And please weigh in with your opinions and ideas!
