Internet Sleuth & Collections Specialist
Are you a great amateur detective on the internet? Why not make money with those skills? We are hired by cities across America to find local businesses who are dodging their business license fees. You’ll look for them on the internet and use other databases we have, then we send out letters to let them know it’s time to pay what they owe the city. And cities really need that income to pay for firefighters, paramedics, libraries, roads and more. Some on your team will follow up via phone. Every citizen in our country deserves to have a fast response with they dial 911, and your work helps us all have good city services.
You’re in an office environment, helping people when they call in on the phone or via e-mail. Callers are businesspeople with questions about paying their city’s business license fees. We train you what to say and how to help. Work 40 hours, Monday through Friday, 8-5, weekend OT is extremely rare. Once you’ve been trained in our Fresno, CA offices and know the job well, many of our specialists work from home. The choice will be yours: cool A/C and free coffee at the office, or work from home.
Our company is over 35 years old and this work has been growing fast for the past seven years. We’re hiring over a dozen people in this position right now. This is a year-round job, with the potential for promotion and growth, if you are looking for a career. We are growing extra fast now because of the bad economy—many cities are having a budget crisis and are laying city workers off. We can do this work for them at less cost, do a better job for them, and collect more money so they can keep providing important city services.

You’ll work for one division of our company, based in Fresno, CA with about 50 employees. We are part of a midsized company, HdL Companies that serves local governments in a number of areas. We’re known as a leader, and we work with over 500 cities and counties in six states.
